Valkyrie Group International was established in 2007 in Fayetteville, NC by S. Emilie Schuler as a woman owned small business providing support the Special Operations Community. VGI provided tactical training in close quarter battle, material for targets for sensitive site exploitation. Her customers included the US Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, NC, Science Applications International Corporation, K.D. Analytical, Tier Tech International, and others.
The company transitioned to Lakeland, FL in 2017 and was established as a sole proprietor LLC under the direction of Robert C. Neumann and is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.
Robert C. Neumann is the Principal with Valkyrie Group International, LLC. He is a retired U.S. Army Chemical Corps Lieutenant Colonel with nearly 25 years of service. He is a subject matter expert in CBRN defense and countering weapons of mass destruction. He is a member of the Adjunct faculty of the Joint Special Operations University. He provides Advanced Nuclear Diagnostics-1 training to the National Guard’s Civil Support Teams, as well as supporting tactical exercises involving clandestine CBRN facilities.
He has served as an instructor for the National Guard’s Civil Support Team’s Analytical Laboratory System Operator’s Course. He is a certified instructor for the INFICON HAPSITE ER, all FLIR handheld radiation detectors, and the NUCSAFE neutron backpack detection system. He has taught asymmetric biological and chemical production courses. He has developed and taught a terrorist production of chemical and biological agent course as well as a 1-week asymmetric production of chemical agents and 1-week asymmetric production of biological agent’s courses. He is the author of the Joint CBRN Dismountable Reconnaissance System (JCDRS) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures Handbook, Chemical Reconnaissance Detachment (CRD) Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures Handbook, and Quick Reference Handbook for Tactical Chemical-Biological Sampling Procedures Using Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Kits.
While on active military duty, he served as the counter WMD plans officer for a Joint Special Operations Task Force during Operation Iraq Freedom (OIF). During OIF he led a team into Iraq during initial combat operations to provide chemical/ biological analytical support. He also planned and supervised WMD focused sensitive site exploitations and served as the SOF liaison to the Iraq Survey Group. He has deployed on a variety of sensitive operations providing CBRN technical support and supported the Intelligence Community on exploitations of former Soviet Union biological facilities.
His military education includes the Chemical Officers Basic and Advance Courses, Combined Arms & Services Staff School, Command & General Staff College, the Army Management Staff College, and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and the Strategic Operations Course – U.S. Army War College. He is a graduate of Norwich University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and has a Master of Arts in Military Studies – Low Intensity Conflict, specializing in Terrorism from American Military University.
